A MAH JONGG MASCOT!

image

Yesterday was our weekly Mah Jongg game and this time it was K’s turn to host with Roxie greeting us as we came in. My hostess gift was for Roxie – an antler – which she seemed to truly appreciate. As always, it was a wonderful day of food and fun. The only thing missing from the day was S who is still in California – and it’s not the same without her!

As I have mentioned before, 3 of us are originally from Michigan so K always starts us out with a toast of Vernor’s Ginger Ale – there’s nothing better!

Lunch was amazing – as it always is when K is the hostess – and so delicious. The shrimp was out of this world along with fabulous roasted peppers.

This was a huge chunk of D’Affinois cheese but by the end of our lunch, it was all gone!

So many wonderful – and healthy – choices! K always sets a  beautiful table!!

And then it was time to play. I would have to say that K had the most amazing hand of the day. She declared herself Atomic and then called for Mah Jongg after only 4 tiles had been discarded!!  You can see it for yourself in this picture:

X won a game with an amazing concealed 2013 hand:

I declared Mah Jongg with this hand – six Jokers! Wow – pretty lucky…maybe I should buy some Lotto tickets!

In another game, this was my hand just as we finished the Charleston – it looked like this would be a winner and yet, I didn’t win that game!

BTW, dessert was the real winner of the day…Talenti Coconut Gelato with Sanders Hot Fudge – another delicacy from Michigan! All in all, this was yet another great day for the OMs.

Roxie thought so too!image
