Yesterday was our weekly game and this time it was J’s turn to host. I must still have been carrying some Happy Birthday luck because I had Mah Jongg three or four times. I always feel that it is a good day if I can declare Mah Jongg just once so this really was a red letter day for me!

After the Charleston on our first game my hand was already shaping up to be a NEWS hand. I had several Jokers and two Green Dragons so that felt safe but I had one Red Dragon and one Soap so it was going to be nothing more than a wild guess as to which Dragon to keep.

But luck was with me…I drew several Soaps, was able to discard the Red Dragon and declared Mah Jongg!

Do you know about Atomic hands? That’s when you have no Jokers and seven pairs. Not everyone plays games allowing Atomic hands – it’s a table rule as to whether or not your group will play allow Atomic hands. Some players say no Jokers and no Flowers in an Atomic hand but the OMs just go with no Jokers. I declared myself Atomic after the Charleston and here you can see how my hand was shaping up.

For quite a while all I need was one Flower and I finally drew one and was able to declare an Atomic Mah Jongg.

Then it was time for our yummy lunch – two different kinds of quiche…Quiche Lorraine or Cheese and Broccoli Quiche or…a little bit of both along with a delicious green salad.

Unfortunately, I had to leave early today and stupidly left my cell phone at J’s apartment. How was I going to put up this posting without my phone? Fortunately, dear and darling K came to my rescue and brought my phone back to me. We won’t be seeing her for a while – she is off to go on safari in Africa. That means we will be missing two OMs – S and K – at next week’s game…which I will be hosting. Hurry back home S and K!!!
