Mah Jongg is not just a game. It has become a part of my life that allows me to entertain my Mah Jongg-playing friends, cook great meals to serve to them and test my mental skills during our game play (which, hopefully, is often).
THE HISTORY OF MAH JONGG IN THE U.S.
Sit back with a cup of tea and enjoy this history of our beloved game as told by the wonderful Annelise Heinz:

It was my pleasure to be contacted by Annelise Heinz several months ago. We had several wonderful e-mail conversations about my original group that played in a very small town in Western PA in the early 50’s. Looking forward to getting her book.
What a wonderful surprise to be included here, Ann — thank you! The project has continued to evolve; I’m now working on turning the dissertation into a book, and I hope it will be out in the next few years. Thanks so much for your interest!
