It’s January 1st and once again we look forward to our new National Mah Jongg League card arriving in our mailboxes sometime in late March/early April. But, in order to have that happen, you must order your card(s) and the earlier you order it, the sooner it will arrive. So, head on over to the National Mah Jongg League‘s website to place your order now!
And I know we are all so happy to give 2020 the boot so I wish you all a very happy and healthy New Year. Welcome 2021!!!

Ann, Nice to have you back, you have been missed!

Hi Ann,
I have access to a set that my older half brother says came from his great grandmother, so assume early 1900s. The bird bam is exactly like Shirley’s tile, 2nd tile in 2nd row . There are 160 tiles, most enrobed in burgundy and my brother thinks they are ivory.
Any info you can share on how we can evaluate this set, determine material/age/value, and as I play American Mahjong, find 6 more jokers…the set has 2, is appreciated.

Hi Tobi – I just saw this. I hope you received my email earlier. This set is DEFINITELY not ivory! At the very oldest it is 55-57 years old. And it is probably Bakelite. Ann
