EBAY PULLS THROUGH…

We can’t always trust the sets (or more probably, the seller) we see for sale on eBay but, sometimes we get lucky as in the lovely bone and bamboo set and box that Lee E found there…

Lee sent the following photos with this message: “Hi Ann, Last night my group played with one of the vintage sets I recently purchased on eBay; it’s bone and bamboo from the 1920’s.  I’ve attached a photo of the set, my friend Stacy, and her winning closed hand.” IMG_1259 IMG_1260 IMG_1261

Lee – thanks so much for sending this! And congratulations to Stacy for that wonderful winning hand!

LOVE THESE!!!

When Jan E was visiting she brought me a gift of fabulous Lake Champlain Chocolates that she had wrapped up in custom Mah Jongg labels. I just loved those labels (and the chocolates, of course!) and wanted more of them. I searched around and ended up at an eBay store called FavorsXpress run by a terrific lady, Suzanne.

And here’s the great thing about Suzanne’s labels – she has six different Mah Jongg-related photos you can choose from AND you can have different wording on the sides of the labels such as your website or your email address or the name of your Mah Jongg group or…whatever!

I am loving these labels/wrappers – much thanks to Suzanne!

IMG_0867 IMG_0870 IMG_0881The labels come on strips of paper; you peel off the label and apply to the candies with the sticky side down. So easy! And so fabulous! Can’t wait to hand these out to my students!

And, before I close today, let me share a poem with the first two lines started by Joy and the second two lines finished in a completely different email by Diane – and I don’t believe they even know one another! This is so fabulous – thanks, ladies!

Ten little birdies, all in a row,

Sitting on a Mah Jongg rack

Flew to a tree, made a show,

Rode the wind; didn’t look back.

HELPING HANDS!

I love these matte black racks with helping hand pushers attached. Of course, there is nothing like the vintage racks made of Catalin but for those old sets that come without racks, these will do in a pinch!
