A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Last Friday was my birthday and X went above, beyond, over, way far away in terms of making sure that I had a very happy birthday. I still am reeling from what she did for me. A fabulous and exquisite luncheon, lots and lots of laughing, and best of all, bringing together a group of twelve of my dearest, dearest friends. How she pulled this all together is so beyond my wildest comprehension. Even two of my best, best, best friends – one from California and one from Florida (besties since we were 4 years old) – were there to surprise me. And then, after all of this, she gave me the most magnificent Bone and Bamboo Mah Jong set (complete with matching extra tiles and beautiful Joker stickers) AND 4 glorious vintage wood racks. I absolutely cannot wait to play with this incredible set.
A MAH JONGG HOLIDAY!
Today was our annual Mah Jongg holiday party. J’s apartment was beautifully decorated for the holidays and we took the time to catch up with one another and talk about everything under the sun before we started playing since we knew that it would be a couple of weeks before we were together again. Of course, presents were opened and there were so many! J gave us all a beautiful notepad and pen as well as a yummy lime and mango salsa from Gunther’s in Texas.
ROMAN MAH JONGG!
- My Turn to Host… December 15, 2013
It was my turn to host our weekly luncheon and Mah Jongg game and for once in my life I didn’t feel like cooking so I ordered – IMHO – the best pizza in the city from Farinella Pizza. Roman pizza with all sorts of different toppings – double YUM!
MAH JONGG MAHJ-A-THON IN THE HAMPTONS
S hosted one of our wonderful “mahjathons” in the fall of 2012 – we drove out to Sag Harbor and cooked and played Mah Jongg and cooked and played Mah Jongg, etc., and barely slept for three days. We did venture out at one point and went for a sight-seeing tour of Sag Harbor and a little bit of shopping at the fabulous store, Bloom.
