2016 Year of the Monkey
I received an exciting message from our dear friends, Judy Serrapica and Bonnie Wise – the brains behind Dragons on the Green Mah Jongg . Read on to learn about their great news and maybe, just maybe, you will see me there in the near future! If you are going to be anywhere near the Tampa area on Saturday, December 17th, please sign up for this great tournament…Bonnie and Judy sponsor these tournaments to support charities and this tournament will be supporting the JCC.
As you know, we are always on the search for new venues to hold our Dragons on the Green Mah Jongg tournaments. Well, we now have one secured for Saturday, December 17th at the soon-to-be-opening (December 11th) Bryan Glazer Family JCC in Tampa located at 522 N Howard Ave, Tampa, FL 33606. We are very excited about this venue as we will be holding their very 1st Mah Jongg Tournament and having the JCC be our charity for this event.
The room we have booked is big and beautiful and we are looking for vendors to join us. So, if you know of anyone (and those of you who have asked in the past), please contact either Bonnie or me via email at email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please check out the new JCC to get information on memberships and their exciting programs. https://www.bryanglazerfamilyjcc.com/
Be on the lookout for our registration flyer which will have all the details, including lunch choices. We hope you will be able to join us then for Friends, Fun, & Philanthropy.

Yesterday I put up a posting about the amount of time a typical game should take to play (15 minutes); you may have noticed the fabulous Mah Jongg clock pictured in this posting:Wouldn’t this look great in your Mah Jongg room, ready to let you know if your games are going over that 15 minute mark. And you can have it – just go to Lee Eisman’s Etsy shop, Do It Again Jewelry. Not only does Lee have this fun clock (in several colors) but she also has Mah Jongg jewelry and these darling cocktail napkins that I am loving!
Along with everything else Meredith did for us, I totally forgot to show you the gift that was waiting for each of us when we arrived at Fisher’s Island: beautifully wrapped bars of Mah Jongg soap! Thank you, Meredith!BTW, for those of you who have been asking, Fisher’s Island is off of New London, CT., although the island itself is considered to be in the state of New York. The only way to get there is to take the ferry (or your private yacht!).
The best Mah Jongg Valentine’s Day gift came yesterday when the Tracie Martyn Salon become the official sponsor of the April 14th Stay Strong and Mahj On luncheon/Mah Jongg benefit at Sarabeth’s Restaurant. I am over the moon about this!
Heartfelt thanks to Tracie and Marius for their generosity!
There are only 8 spots left at the benefit so if you are planning on joining us, please register now.
